Fridays for Future
Fridays for Future began on August 20, 2018, when Greta Thunberg, then a 15-year-old Swedish girl, started a protest by herself in front of the Swedish Parliament.
We will be out in front of Auburn City Hall at 1225 Lincoln Way on Fridays from 12:00 to 1:00 to raise awareness about climate change. Come out and join us! Bring a sign!

ICE Out of Home Depot
Home Depot has allowed ICE agents and affiliates to enter their property to apprehend targeted people. Although we have not seen that level of incursion in our local Home Depot, we need to take a stand to encourage the policy makers in Home Depot to make a change. On the third Saturday of each month, we will visibly stand united to protect our neighbors.

May Day Training for Non-Cooperation
This May Day, people across California are pledging NO WORK, NO SCHOOL, NO SHOPPING. What defeats threats to our democracy is ordinary people coming together, refusing to comply, and building power too big to ignore. On April 22nd at 6:00 PM join a virtual training on how we can use peaceful noncooperation as a tool to build the power we need. We’ll learn how all of us can bring creativity and joy to this movement. RSVP HERE

Communities Not Cages National Day of Protest
Saturday April 25th join Indivisible Auburn for a rally and food drive. The rally will be from 4:30 – 6:00 PM at the Auburn Historic Courthouse against ICE detentions. A petition to the Placer County Board of Supervisors to not allow any future detention centers in the county, will be available for signature. The food drive for our local food closet will be in the small parking lot across the street. Drive through to drop off donations of non-perishables like dry goods (flour, pasta, rice), cooking oil, canned goods, also diapers, laundry detergent, hygiene items, and even cash donations. May Day in Auburn
Throughout the country, activists have asked, “What can we do to have more impact than our demonstrations?” Economic hurt might make the cowardly Republicans finally take note of how upset their constituents really are. As a result of many conversations and a lot of soul searching, a national strike is being planned for May 1st. May First is also International Workers’ Day, celebrated all over the world. For all of us, it is a “Get in where you fit in.” You may not be able to take a day off of work or leave school, but you could exercise your economic strength by not buying anything that day. Plan ahead. Do what you can.
