Join with Audrey Denney and other supporters in the Nevada City Constitution Parade. This is a popular event and a great chance to improve Audrey’s name recognition. Wear your Denney t-shirt. If you don’t have one YET, you can get one in the AADC office at 536 Auburn Ravine Road in Auburn, you can also join Audrey’s group if you are a part of the Old Broads for Audrey group. Or wear a white shirt to blend in with the Denney shirts with a unified look.
Nevada City’s Constitution Day Parade has been a local tradition since 1967. The Sunday parade features more than 100 entries. Highlights of this Sept 9 and 10 weekend include a parade, Revolutionary War Living History at Pioneer Park, the Gold Country Duck Race on Deer Creek, and a free outdoor big band concert in the downtown historic district. DETAILS The Delaware Regiment of the Brigade of the American Revolution will be offering living history demonstrations of Revolutionary War soldiers drilling and firing, drilling of kids with mock muskets, music by the California Consolidated Drum Band, and colonial life living history. Flag raising to music and reading of the Declaration of Independence will be at 10am each day, and activities conclude at 5pm on Saturday and 12pm on Sunday.The 2 p.m. Sunday parade features more than 100 entries and culminates other activities including Revolutionary War Living History in Pioneer Park, the Gold Country Duck Race on Deer Creek.
